Paramagnetic properties of carbon-doped titanium dioxide
This paper reports the experimental results on paramagnetic properties of carbon-doped titanium dioxide. The electron paramagnetic resonance study of the samples has been carried out both in dark and under illumination. The nature of defects and their dynamics under illumination of carbon-doped TiO_2 samples are discussed.
متن کاملPreparation and Characterization of Cerium Doped Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles by the Electrical Discharge Method
Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) are known as a widely used photocatalyst. In order to improve the performance of these nanoparticles, the recombination of the electron-cavity pair must be reduced and the absorption rate of the visible region should be expanded. One way to increase the performance of these nanoparticles is using cerium doped TiO2. In the present study, pure and doped titan...
متن کاملVisible-light Photocatalyst - Nitrogen-doped Titanium Dioxide -
A new photocatalyst, known as nitrogen-doped TiO2 (TiO2-xNx), yielding high reactivity under visible light irradiation, together with high potential for mass-productivity, has been developed by using a highly time-efficient development technique that combines computational materials design with experimental syntheses. Under visible light irradiation, TiO2-xNx films and powders exhibit significa...
متن کاملGrowth of titanium dioxide nanorods in 3D-confined spaces.
Three-dimensional (3D) nanowire (NW) networks are promising architectures for effectively translating the extraordinary properties of one-dimensional objects into a 3D space. However, to uniformly grow NWs in a 3D confined space is a serious challenge due to the coupling between crystal growth and precursor concentration that is often dictated by the mass flow characteristic of vapor or liquid ...
متن کاملCalculation of Electronic and Optical Properties of Doped Titanium Dioxide Nanostructure
By means of first principles calculations we show that both rutile and anatase phases of bulk TiO2 doped by S, Se or Pb can display substantial decreasing in the band gap (up to 50%), while doping by Zr does not sizably affect the band-gap value. Moreover, the absorption edge is shifted (up to 1 eV) to the lower energy range in the case of TiO2 doped by S or Pb that opens a way to enhancin...
